The Ministry of Finance on 11 August,2011 appointed Prof S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman as the new Chairman to the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB),ministry source confirmed.
Prof S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman replaces M Khairul Hossain who has been recently transferred to the SEC as its Chairman. S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman was Chairman of the Department of finance, Dhaka University in 2008 and with foundation of the Department of International Business he joined the later as a professor.
S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman did his Masters in Economics and Planning from the Peoples Friendship University, Moscow, in 1979 and Ph. D. in Development Economics in 1983 from the Institute of Oriental Studies, Moscow.
