Mohammad Anisuzzaman has stepped down as a member of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). He submitted his resignation letter to SEC Chairman Ziaul Haque Khondker on 8 May at 12.05 pm. He admitted his resignation saying, " I have resigned on personal ground following the order of government."
Mohammad Anisuzzaman joined the SEC as a member of law on April 15, 2009 under contractual appointment for three years. His job is supposed to end on April 15, 2012. Before joining SEC, he was a retired district judge.
Earlier, Banking and financial institution division of the finance ministry has asked two incumbent members to resign as part of the overhauling process of the securities regulator.
Meanwhile, a newly appointed SEC member Helal Uddin Nizami joined the office of the securities regulator.
